I’m passing by Dupnica by car
The air is chilly; better roll the car window up.
The October atmosphere is majestic
Between the mountain and the blocks, dead leaves and red roofs.
I remember how I used to spend the time there
Looking at the kids play, watch how the trees get naked
Walking around with you, while ladies talk
Making plans and fighting the cold

I’d like to know if you can still smile
I wonder if you got over it


Time heals everything they say
But for somebody one life is not enough
Just forgive and forget that old lad
Autumn passes fast, even in the village.

Quite a while has passed
And passing by here is a sort of deja-vu
The kids and women are in the same place
And so the leaves start to fall on the ground
Memories are bittersweet; I’m not sure how I want to be
But it’s better for you to be without me
Maybe one day you’ll be like those old ladies
And talk about the lost love of your twenties.

In Dupnica much later with my son
The kids have grown up, but the weather is the same
This October is truly majestic.

Look my son. Be nice to the old people.
